Arctic Fox

(Vulpes lagopus)

Arctic foxes have a thick winter coat which is white in colour to camouflage them against the snowy conditions. In summer, their coat is much thinner and the colour varies between brown and dark grey. This camouflages them against rocks and vegetation when the snow melts.
