Animal Encounters – Otter

Morning Encounter – please ensure you arrive at the ticket office at 9.30am ready to start. Your encounter includes general admission, so you can explore the zoo after your encounter until the zoo closes.

Afternoon Encounter – please ensure you arrive at the ticket office at 1pm ready to start. Your encounter includes general admission, so you can explore the zoo before and after your encounter, please arrive no earlier than 10am.

Duration: 20 minutes + 10 minutes health and safety briefing.

Includes:

• Free admission to the zoo for the participant.
• The chance to meet and feed the otters.
• Photo opportunity.
• Opportunity to learn about the animals and ask questions.
• Receive an experience certificate (optional).

This encounter is available for adults and children over the age of 8 years old. Children between the ages of 8-15 years old must be accompanied by a spectating parent or guardian paying general zoo admission (1 adult per child). The spectating parent or guardian will not enter the animal enclosure.

Please note:

• We do not allow petting of the otters. 
• The otters can be very vocal and may make loud noises throughout the animal encounter. 
• Noise levels must be kept to a minimum during encounters.
• If you are pregnant, we advise you not to partake in the encounters due to being in close proximity to animals.
• We can only have a maximum of two participants per animal encounter due to health and safety purposes. 
• Participants must wear suitable footwear (completely closed and no sandals) and waterproof clothing as our encounters take place outdoors. 
• The animals may not come out for the encounter, as they have the option as to whether they come out or not. Unfortunately if they do not come out for the encounter, refunds will not be issued and we will not issue a change of day.
